Question how to target?

I've looked through Guild Wars Wiki, but haven't figured out how to tell my henchmen which enemy to attack. I can use the flags to tell them where to go, but how do I tell them which enemy to attack?

Thanks,
Wrayk

Usually, Control + Space bar on your targeted enemy will "call" a target(There will be a T next to your name in the party window), after you do that, henchmen, and heroes if you have them, will target that enemy the majority of the time.

So first you target your enemy with CTRL-SHIFT (since I don't want to be the 1st to attack) and then CTRL-SPACE? I tried that but my character also started attacking. I want my henchies to start attacking without me.

ctrl+space+shift calls a target w/o attacking. When you move into range the henchies will start the Pew pew pew.

Note that it doesn't always work quite as intended, as henchmen AI can switch targets. Only melee warriors will really reliably go for your target.

I would love a setting that forces the henchies to do EXACTLY as they're told, regardless of what might be wise in the eyes of the AI. This is often an issue in places where you want them to target, for example, a fast-rez paragon or mesmer... but the AI makes them change targets to the monk a few seconds into the fight.

But ctrl+mouse click will send everyone, including yourseft at the front, at the target. I'm a mage, and want only my warrior henchies to attack.

ctrl-shift-space will make you not attack. Someone has mentioned this in the thread already.

You still have to move into range. They wont charge outside your aggro bubble.

H/H will engage a called target (I use Ctrl + click and step back immediately.) at longbow range, maybe a bit more, which is of course outside your aggro range.

Can Macros be used in GW? Then when the key sequencee you want to use is determined, you can chain/macro some of them?

Macros are a bit of a grey area. I don't think it's possible to give an absolute 'Anet won't ban you' unless an Anet employee actually tells you it's ok. Automating things are a bit like botting, so I'd say macros would put yourself at greater risk of being detected by Anet's bot finding methods. I would avoid them. It's not like you need them anyway.
